Jev costs $0.042 per million input tokens. Output is free.
That is TypeSafe's list price for Jev, its System One model. You pay only for what you send — the state plus the question set — because Jev returns typed answers instead of generated text, so there are no output tokens to bill.
In practice one evaluation is small. We measured real calls token by token: a typical evaluation with three questions and a short paragraph is about 484 input tokens, or roughly $0.00002. The heaviest request this site accepts — 12 fully described questions and 24,000 characters of state — is about 8,981 tokens, or $0.000377.
- Typical evaluation: ~484 tokens ≈ $0.00002
- Largest evaluation we accept: ~8,981 tokens ≈ $0.000377
- 1,000 typical evaluations ≈ 2 cents at list price

So why buy credits here?
TypeSafe does not sell self-serve plans or give free usage — access starts with a waitlist, and pricing above the list rate goes through their sales team. JevStation is the ready-to-use layer on top: a playground you can use without writing code, saved evaluation threads, reusable question sets, an API key you can create in a minute, and automatic refunds when an evaluation fails. You pay per evaluation in credits, not per token, so the price of a request never depends on how the model tokenizes it: 1 credit for a standard evaluation (state up to 8,000 characters and up to 5 questions) and 3 credits for a larger one.

Going direct vs JevStation
The same models, different ways in. Public prices only; where a provider does not publish something, the table says so.

| OpenRouter (Decider, Luna Decisions and the rest) | Decider $0.02 / M, Luna Decisions $0.10 / M input tokens, output free; same list prices as the vendors | None for these models | Prepaid credits; OpenRouter charges a fee when you buy them | API, with a TypeSafe-compatible /systemone endpoint; you write the integration |

Pricing questions
- Is Jev free?
- Not from TypeSafe — it charges $0.042 per million input tokens and gives no free credits. On JevStation you can run preset evaluations without an account (3 a day), and a free account comes with 50 credits, enough for 50 standard evaluations.
- How much does one Jev evaluation cost?
- At list price a typical evaluation costs about $0.00002 in tokens. On JevStation it costs 1 credit, or 3 credits when the state is over 8,000 characters or you ask more than 5 questions. With the 12,000-credit pack that is about $0.0013 per standard evaluation.
- Do credits expire?
- Purchased credits are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. The 50 sign-up credits are valid for 30 days.
- Am I charged when an evaluation fails?
- No. Credits are reserved when an evaluation starts and refunded automatically if Jev errors or returns no answers.
- Do the playground and the API share one balance?
- Yes. Evaluations from the playground and from the API draw on the same credit balance at the same rate.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Credit packs are one-time purchases — $9.90 for 5,000 credits or $15.90 for 12,000 — with no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
